A Death in the Family
Matthew May

Marcus Delivering Mail
Anyone who lives in our neighborhood knew when the mail was about to arrive when Marcus was on his route.
But we won’t be seeing Marcus around the neighborhood anymore. Marcus was murdered last week. He often went to Detroit to check on his mother, who still resided there. In the course of attempting to stop a burglary in his mother’s home early Wednesday morning, he was shot in the back and killed.

The ever popular Summer Picnic was a huge success with many neighbors showing up to have a great time. The event was rescheduled to Saturday, August 15, due to the previous Saturday’s heavy rains and thunderstorms. CCCA would like to thank Angie Alexander for all her efforts in organizing the largest neighborhood event. In addition, we would like to thank the 50+ members that had fun meeting new and old friends as there was food and games for everyone of all ages! CCCA is proud to have this event sponsored by our donors: Larry’s Foodland, Telcom Credit Union, Chili’s, Chef’s Restaurant, Biggby Coffee and along with others.
