CCCA Annual Neighborhood Picnic

When: Saturday August 14, 2010

What Time: 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Clements Circle Park (Harrison St. between West Chicago & Plymouth Roads)

Cost: FREE

What to Bring: A dish to pass and a friend or neighbor

Additional Details: Games & prizes for the kids, Raffle for CCCA Members, 50/50 Raffle, $1 admission to the Clements Circle Pool for all CCCA members the day of the picnic.

This year’s sale is shaping up to have over 50 homes selling everything you could imagine both big and small and everything in between.

You can now register for the 2010 Neighborhood Garage Sale online at our Garage Sale page.

What will you get when you register? The CCCA will take care of everything that you will need to have a successful sale, including advertising in local and Detroit newspapers as well as online postings at such sites as Craigs List. The CCCA will also take care of  registering your home with the City of Livonia and publish maps showing all the participating homes and make these maps available both on the website as well as at the entrances to the neighborhood attached to the Garage Sale signs. All you need to do is get your things ready to sell and enjoy the crowds!

This event is your opportunity to rid your garage, basement, shed, etc., of items such as paints, stains, fertilizer, lawn & garden chemicals, antifreeze, gasoline, etc. In addition, electronic waste will be accepted including computers, monitors, printers, scanners, cell phones, fax machines, televisions, etc.

So once you have helped to clean up the park and enjoyed some lunch with your neighbors you can clean out your garage and house and head over to the Hazardous Waste Day.

In addition to the annual visit of Santa Claus, the Clements Circle Civic Association is pleased to announce that members of the Franklin High School Choirs lead by Marilee Olsen will be helping to ring in the holiday season and lead us in song during the annual CCCA Christmas Celebration on Saturday, December 5th, starting at 6:30 pm at the Historic Wilson Barn.

The Franklin Vocal Music Department has had an exciting year so far with an invitation to it’s Bel Canto Choir to tape a performance at the Detroit Public Television studios for an upcoming PBS Special Celebrate America which will air in March. This group of student is incredibly talented and have numerous public performances scheduled throughout the holiday season as well as several concerts. So please come a join the CCCA as we kick off this festive season with Marilee Olsen and the Franklin High School Choirs on Saturday, December 5th at  the Wilson Barn, starting at 6:30 PM. This is sure to become one of the best events of the year.

Once again Clements Circle held a Candidate’s Night to give our members a chance to meet and greet the people that are putting themselves out there to serve our interests. This tradition has been a great opportunity for our neighborhood to really get to know the candidates and help the undecided voter on Nov 4. Our Annual Fall General Meeting and Candidate’s Night was held on Monday October 20th at 7 pm at Emerson Middle School.
