Neighborhood Picnic Time!

Nothing says summer like a nice neighborhood gathering! Our annual Picnic in the Park will be held from 3pm-7pm on Saturday, August 9, 2008. The picnic is sure to be a hit with the whole family, we have a ton of fun planned for the day.
We are so excited to say that this year we will have a bounce house! The kids will have a blast jumping around, maybe we’ll even have an “adult time” in it! Don’t miss out on the hip hoppin’ fun!
There will be an exciting bike parade for the kids. The kids will have a blast decorating their bikes and showing it off! We ask that the kids come with their bikes already decorated. There will be games and prizes, fun for the young and old.
You will be drawn by the fantastic smell of hot dogs on the grill and we would love it if you brought a dish to pass. Come and join in the neighborly fun. Catch up with old neighbors and meet the new ones too! We look forward to seeing everyone there!

2008 CCCA Neighborhood Garage Sale

Saturday June 14th is the date! 9am to 5pm is the time! Clements Circle Neighborhood is the place to find all the treasures your looking for. Our Annual Neighborhood Garage Sale kicks off tomorrow and promises to be one of the best ones yet. We have a whole bunch of our neighbors that will have all their goodies out for a everyone to look at and hopeful buy! So please plan to come and spend some time treasure hunting in our neighborhood! New President takes CCCA Reigns

On April 24th at the Annual Spring General Meeting elections were held and a new CCCA president was elected. John Tasdemir has been an active CCCA board member for several years and has helped in several projects over the last 2 years such as revising the CCCA By-laws and helping to re-establish our non -profit status. Spring is here once again and after all the snow that we have had over the last few months I am really looking forward to the warmer weather and all that it brings. One of those things is the opportunity to see all the people of the neighborhood that have been hibernating in their homes only to venture out to remove the snow from the driveway and walks or get to and from the car to take them back and forth to work or school. It has been a long hard winter for many of us but it is time once again to renew and refresh.
This spring brings changes not only to the season, weather and our surroundings but also to the CCCA itself. These changes may come as a surprise to many of you but they are necessary to ensure that the Clements Circle remains strong and welcoming. The First of these changes is that we have cut back on the number of events that we are going to hold this year. Instead of having an Ice Cream Social, Corn Roast and the Neighborhood Picnic which was canceled last year due to a lack of help we, the CCCA Board have decided to pool our resources and combine all three into one big event in August! This event will be held on August 9th at the Clements Circle Park and will be called the Clements Circle Civic Association Neighborhood Picnic. The picnic has been a huge part of the CCCA for many years and with the limited volunteer resources that we have had it seemed silly to try to support the other events on a small scale when we could pull everything into one grand event such as the Neighborhood Picnic. Watch for more details in the coming months.
The other change is a significant change in the CCCA Board. This has not been an easy decision for me but I need to step down as the president of our neighborhood association. I have been working full time in a job that requires me to travel quite a bit and I am also going to school to obtain my degree. This is all on top of my roles as father and husband. The end result is that there simply isn’t enough time for me to do all that I need to do and all that I want to do for the neighborhood. I still intend to remain very active in the CCCA and I would like to challenge all of you to take an active part in your neighborhood just as I have done. What can you do to make sure that this place that we all call home remains safe, friendly and strong as a community? There are a small handful of people that have been there for almost every event, or served in some small way to make sure that all the things that the Clements Circle does continue, but to ensure the future of the CCCA we simply need more involvement by you the members. So please, challenge yourself and become an active CCCA member.
